How long do people normally stay in therapy?
There is no 'typical' timeframe. For some, a single session is helpful. For others, therapy can be over a period of many years with breaks and different therapists.
How do you work?
I work in an integrative way incorporating a variety of theories and approaches as a foundation to the work. One of my main beliefs is that we are all of equal value and importance with no two clients being the same or suiting any one particular approach. Relationship between you and I is key if you are to feel fully seen and heard - a bedrock of internal change or movement.
Do I need to commit to a certain number of sessions?
Essentially, no and you are free to finish at any point but preferably with some discussion around your decision.
A level of commitment to the process and regular attendance is however advantageous for the therapy to be of most benefit.

What happens in a session?
This is difficult to answer! In essence though:
You talk - I listen, then together we work to try to explore and understand your inner world, what it means to you and how it affects how you are in your external world and the relationships within it.
